Brands are discounting popular MTBs to make room for in-coming 2025 models – Singletracks.com
It’s no secret that mountain bike brands put models on sale ahead of a new release. Judging by the discounts we found on these top MTBs, we suspect that more than a few of these bikes will see a refresh this spring. If you’re someone who needs to own the latest model, our advice is to steer clear of these bikes (unless noted below) and wait until Sea Otter in April before making a purchase decision. On the flip side, if you’re someone who thinks today’s mountain bikes are better than they’ve ever been and ride great as-is, our advice is to take advantage of these prices while they last. Having over-ordered previously, many brands are paring down 2025 orders, which means discounts on next generation bikes are unlikely, especially in the near term.$4,750.00 | $2,849.93 sale Oh Yowie, we hardly knew ye! Diamondback teased and delayed the launch of the short-travel/downcountry Yowie for years, and now REI tells us this bike has been discontinued. Save 40% off the carbon-frame Yowie, with a claimed weight that’s just above the 30lb mark. Buy from REI $4,350.00 | $3,044.93 sale The Habit is another bike that REI shows as ‘discontinued,’ and the bikes are discounted on the Cannondale website too. It seems unlikely there won’t be a replacement for such a popular trail bike. This build features a Shimano XT drivetrain, 4-piston Deore brakes, and RockShox suspension. Buy from REI $5,750.00 | $2,875.00 sale It’s unlikely we’ll see a new GT Sensor for a while, if ever. Grab this carbon trail bike with UDH for 50% off before it’s gone! Buy from Jenson USA $5,999.00 | $4,199.00 sale The Canfield Tilt was voted the top all-mountain bike of 2024 by Singletracks readers thanks to its highly effective CBF suspension design. The bike received minor updates in 2022 but it’s remained mostly unchanged since we first tested (and loved) it in 2021. This build features a carbon fork and a 2X Shimano GRX drivetrain. Buy from REI $7,499.00 | $5,599.00 sale Pivot doesn’t do low-end builds, which means even their least expensive bikes aren’t cheap. Buy from Competitive Cyclist $3,800.00 | $1,899.94 sale A complete full suspension mountain bike with carbon frame priced under $2,000? Yup. Save big on the current generation all-mountain eMTB! Buy from Trek $7,000.00 | $5,999.99 sale The Specialized Turbo Levo SL is designed to look and feel more like a non-electric mountain bike. It’s a popular model so we don’t expect to see it on discount much longer. Buy from Specialized $7,299.00 | $5,839.20 sale How are so many of these still available? The Following was a favorite downcountry bike when we tested it, and this version has been slightly updated with UDH-compatibility.
