Filed under:Seminoles looking to bounce back after disappointing 2024The 2025 Florida State schedule has been finalized, with the ACC announcing the dates for all of its conference members Monday night.FSU opens the year at home vs. the Alabama Crimson Tide, set to be the Seminoles’ first game inside a newly-renovated Doak Campbell Stadium. Florida State then has an easy ramp-up to ACC play, facing off against FCS foe East Texas on Sep. 6 then enjoying a bye week before a matchup against MAC member Kent State.The Seminoles’ conference slate begins on Friday, Sep. 26 with a road game vs. the Virginia Cavaliers, facing off against the Miami Hurricanes the next week in Tallahassee. Matchups vs. Pitt (Oct. 11) and Stanford (Oct. 18) follow, with FSU’s next bye week coming on Oct. 25.The final month of the season will see FSU host Wake Forest on Nov. 1, travel to Clemson on Nov. 8, host Virginia Tech on Nov 15, take on NC State on the road on Nov. 21, and then wrap up the 2025 regular season with a rivalry matchup vs. the Florida Gators in Gainesville on Nov. 29.From FSU Sports Info:The home-and-home series against Alabama was originally announced in 2019 and marks the first time Alabama will play in Tallahassee. The Crimson Tide will host FSU in Tuscaloosa next season.After playing the first three games of the series in Alabama, facing off in Tuscaloosa in 1965 and 1974 and in Birmingham in 1967, the two teams have met twice at neutral sites. Florida State earned a 21-14 victory in Jacksonville in 2007, and the teams most recently played in 2017, opening the season by participating in the first collegiate game in Atlanta’s Mercedes-Benz Stadium.Florida State is 15-4 all-time against Virginia, with a 6-3 record at Scott Stadium in Charlottesville. The teams last met in 2019, also in Charlottesville. After meeting in each of Florida State’s first 15 seasons in the ACC, this season’s matchup will be the fifth contest between the teams since 2010.The Seminoles and Hurricanes have met each season since 1969, with FSU holding a 29-28 advantage in that span. Since Miami joined the ACC in 2004, FSU leads the series 13-8 and is 6-5 in Tallahassee.Florida State is 5-6 all-time against Pittsburgh, including a 2-1 mark since Pitt joined the ACC in 2013. FSU won the last meeting between the teams at Pitt in 2023.The meeting against Stanford will be Florida State’s first against the Cardinal. Florida State’s last regular-season game in the state of California was a 1997 season-opening win at USC. The last time FSU played in California was the 2014 College Football Playoff Semifinal at the Rose Bowl. FSU won the most recent meeting between the teams, a 41-16 victory in Winston-Salem in 2023.Florida State leads the all-time series against Clemson 21-16 including a 31-24 overtime win the last time FSU visited Memorial Stadium in 2023. That victory snapped Clemson’s 25-game home winning streak against ACC opponents and was just the second home loss under Dabo Swinney when the Tigers led by at least 10 points.FSU is 24-13-1 against Virginia Tech, including a 39-17 win at Doak in 2023. The win improved FSU to 14-6 at home against the Hokies and gave FSU a 4-3 advantage in the series since Virginia Tech joined the ACC in 2004. The matchup will be the third consecutive in the series in Tallahassee.Florida State’s game at NC State will be the first between the programs since 2022 after playing every season from 1992-2022. The Seminoles lead the all-time series 27-16 and hold an 11-10 advantage away from Tallahassee. As members of the ACC, FSU is 19-12 against the Wolfpack. FSU’s game at NC State will be the second of the season on a Friday, joining the September 26 game at Virginia. The last time FSU played two regular-season road games on a Friday was 1958.
