A post shared by Juan Esteban Ayerbe | Photography (@juanes_ayerbe) A post shared by Ivanka Trump (@ivankatrump)“Her elegance, which has its roots in her inner beauty and spirit, is often a reference point, an anchor, for many celebrities, actresses, and models in these times in which we appear to have somewhat lost our way.”A statement released by a White House rep touched upon how Hepburn “has long been a personal inspiration to Ivanka.”Share iconImage credits: Getty ImagesThe first daughter was “honored to wear the gown and “incredibly grateful [to the] Arnault family and the Givenchy atelier for creating this masterpiece, capturing the original artistry and elegance with remarkable precision and craftsmanship,” the rep told Page Six.“Audrey Hepburn has long been a personal inspiration to Ivanka,” the statement added. “She views it as a great privilege to honor her legacy in this way and is incredibly grateful to the team at Givenchy for bringing this moment to life.”A number of netizens expressed outrage over Ivanka’s appearance in the white gown.Share iconImage credits: ivankatrump“She [Audrey] is the complete opposite of Ivanka’s silver spoon life,” read one comment.“I’m a big Audrey fan, and this is 100 percent insulting to her memory,” said one Reddit user. “Before she was a glamorous, famous actress, she was a rebel against the very political movement Ivanka’s father emulates.”“Ivanka can copy all the dresses she wants; what’s lacking is grace and elegance,” said another comment.Share iconImage credits: ivankatrump“That is why she is remembered as an icon. She wasn’t American, but I can only imagine what she would think of Trump. Ivanka is not a fashion icon or role model in any way.”Ivanka is the eldest daughter of Trump and used to serve as his senior advisor during his first term in the White House. However, she recently revealed that she won’t be part of her father’s second administration.“The main reason I am not going back to serve now is, I know the cost,” she said on the Him+Her podcast. “And it’s a price that I’m not willing to make my kids bear.”Share iconImage credits: ivankatrump“My primary goals were just to, like, be the best freaking mom,” she added. “Every time I had to miss something, I’m like, ‘I will never let this happen again in the minute I leave the White House.’ I feel super great about this decision.”“I love policy and impact. I hate politics,” she continued. “And unfortunately, the two are not separable… There is a darkness to that world that I don’t really want to welcome into mine.”Maggie Cordish, Ivanka’s longtime friend, said the first daughter would continue to be her father’s “informal adviser.”“She’s still his daughter, and a trusted voice, so in that sense an informal adviser, as we all are with our family members,” Cordish told CNN.Share iconImage credits: AnthonyTresslarShare iconImage credits: TheMaleHaremShare iconImage credits: JohnFor12171930Share iconImage credits: principessadiShare iconImage credits: moiraogreeneShare iconImage credits: itsmommy2024Share iconImage credits: Cherylm984Share iconImage credits: GuilloluisitoShare iconImage credits: RebeccaAnCamposShare iconImage credits: JCraigWShare iconImage credits: JokeTurkenburgShare iconImage credits: GallagherLuannShare iconImage credits: charliemenghettShare iconImage credits: mrdrcyditzwillmShare iconImage credits: liananShare iconImage credits: SunshineFL33904Anyone can write on Bored Panda. I don’t want to take sides here (I don’t know either of them and frankly I don’t quite care), but what strikes me as odd is the fact that Audrey’s son says he’s content with Ivanka’s choice, so why do so many people take offense on her behalf?Because that’s how toxic the internet has become. It’s no longer enough to just not like a person; everything they say, do or wear has to be ripped to shreds in as vicious a way as possible. This comment is hidden. You are so angry you aren’t even making sense.I think the public’s scorn and dislike of Donald Trump is spilling over onto his family. It’s about the dress, not who wore it first! She looks beautiful and classy. It’s only clothing people. Attacking the wearer seems juvenile and oh, so very high-school.What happened to the ‘be kind’ movement? Here we have a woman being trashed (whatever she does) just because of who her dad happens to be, I don’t remember any mainstream media reports of her ever being a bad person, being nasty to staff or whatever. The same ‘be unkind’ rhetoric has started towards Barron Trump now as well who has done nothing but appear to be a very courteous and polite young manThe disdain for Ivanka has nothing to do with whether or not she’s nice. She’s completely unethical and used the White House to enrich herself. https://www.citizensforethics.org/reports-investigations/crew-investigations/jared-and-ivanka-made-up-to-640-million-in-the-white-house/ Although I do agree that talking about her dress is childish.A point well made, but is that not an example of selective outrage? Politicians from every party in every country are able to become extremely wealthy through what should be ‘public service’. Accepting the fact that ivanka wasn’t elected and that her increased wealth is through policy decisions and deals to her benefit, apart from the fact she wasn’t elected is that any different to Nancy pelosi who was able to trade in stocks whilst having ‘insider’ knowledge which is illegal, or the Hunter Biden deals that seem to come to public knowledge for a few days then they disappear over and over. If we as a society are going to call out wrongs we have have to call out ALL wrongs, and not keep quiet when it’s our ‘team’ doing it. As an extra point politics shouldn’t be a career, you’d hope people enter politics to fight for a cause they care about, so once they’ve dealt with that cause they should step aside and let someone else deal with their cause. Please get over yourself. Stop excusing these lunatics.”what happened to the “be kind” movement?”………welp, it’d be nice if that started with our president……him and all his little nepo babies…Unfortunately, the ‘be kind’ movement is not about being kind at all, it’s about shutting down criticism of ideas and opinions if those ideas come from a person or group perceived to more oppressed than is the critic. Although it may sound ‘kind’ at first glance, it is a ridiculous notion. For one thing, the ‘ladder’ of oppression is completely arbitrary – no two groups will have the same thoughts about who ranks where in the hierarchy of oppressed people (except for the universal agreement that old, straight, white men are on top and are only ever the oppressor, never the oppressed). For another thing, those who demand that everybody ‘be kind’ to those below them on the oppression scale do not differentiate between good and bad ideas; their only criteria being that criticism of those ideas is ‘punching down’ and is therefore always bad. And so we have reached the stage where anything said by a member of a supposedly ‘privileged’ group is automatically bad and worthy of a campaign of abuse: anything that comes from a perceived ‘minority’ is immune from criticism. This applies equally to all sides in our shiny new partisan world: ideas and opinions are no longer considered on merit but on who voices them. Why be kind to people who aren’t kind?Exactly, but it has to work both ways.Ivanka absolutely deserves to be trashed.
