On Thursday, the Australian singer, who was married to Cyrus from October 2023 to August 2024, told “Page Six” that “what’s being seen in public now reflects much of what I experienced in private during our relationship” and that she was “very sad to see those same struggles continue for him, but I’m glad the truth is coming to light.” Her statement follows a public Instagram post from Cyrus’s son Trace, pleading for his father to reach out for help. “Sadly the man that I wanted so desperately to be just like I barely recognize now,” the 35-year-old singer and former member of the band Metro Station wrote. “It seems this world has beaten you down and it’s become obvious to everyone but you.”Drama has trailed the Cyrus family for years. Billy Ray Cyrus and Firerose’s acrimonious split included mutual allegations of abuse. Cyrus cited fraud as the reason for annulling their marriage; Firerose claims that he filed for divorce the day before she was scheduled to have a double mastectomy, effectively blocking the procedure as she lost his health insurance. The pair traded many bitter words via the tabloids.
