Lego Just Announced An Official Nintendo Game Boy Set Releases This October – GameSpot

The new kit joins Lego’s line of other video game system replicas like the NES and Atari.Lego and Nintendo revealed the upcoming Lego Game Boy kit with a short teaser trailer on X (formerly Twitter). While the Lego Game Boy’s design was not fully revealed, the teaser video previewed recognizable components like the classic purple face buttons, black D-pad, and pieces of the gray case. Assuming the sizes of the teased pieces are the final design, it’s looking like this new Lego display set could be roughly the same size as the original Game Boy DMG handheld.The short teaser concludes with confirmation that the Lego Game Boy set will launch in October, but no specific date or pricing information was given. We’ll be sure to update this post when more information is announced, including preorder availability.In the meantime, you can pick up several of Lego’s other Nintendo display models for adults right now, including the new Legend of Zelda Deku Tree 2-in-1 set for $300 at Amazon and Walmart. You can also grab the popular Super Mario World: Mario & Yoshi animated figure for $130 at Amazon and Walmart. Amazon’s listing ships via Amazon Japan, so expect a longer shipping time, but shipping is free. Other Super Mario-themed sets are also available, including the Mighty Bowser model for $270 and the Piranha Plant kit for $48 (was $60). Unfortunately, the Lego NES and Atari console kits are sold out, but you can still pick up a Lego replica of the Pac-Man arcade cabinet for $270 at Amazon. You can also grab a 3:4-scale replica Xbox 360 building set made by Lego competitor Mega Bloks for $150 at Target. The set includes multiple buildable parts, including the original Xbox 360 console, its retail box, the Xbox 360 controller, and a mini Halo 3 game box.Lego also released over 100 new sets on January 1, including a long list of new Nintendo and video game-related kits. One of the biggest releases is the new Lego Mario Kart line featuring six sets based on the fan-favorite cart racer series. There are also new releases joining the Lego Animal Crossing line, as well as new sets based on non-Nintendo video game series like Sonic the Hedgehog, Minecraft, and Fortnite–not to mention dozens of other kits for other popular Lego collections like Star Wars, Marvel, and more.
