AMD AIBs Confirm 16GB Memory For Radeon RX 9070, Navi 48 For RX 9070 Series & A Possible Late January Launch – Wccftech
AMD’s AIB partners have revealed a possible late-January release date for the Radeon RX 9070 series GPUs while revealing more details.AMD revealed little to nothing about RDNA 4 GPUs at CES, and hence, we didn’t get to see any crucial info on the Radeon RX 9070 GPUs from the AIBs either. AMD didn’t even reveal any of the specifications of these cards, but one of the tech YouTubers unknowingly unveiled what looks like to be under embargo.A YouTube video by MyGear showcased the ASUS Prime Radeon RX 9070 GPU, which reveals the VRAM capacity and the GPU design. The video has been taken down but thanks to @I_Leak_VN, we have some screenshots of the GPU and its box. As it appears from the box, the RX 9070 has 16 GB VRAM capacity. Surely it’s GDDR6 VRAM and the memory bus is likely 256-bit, but nothing has been confirmed officially.The PRIME Radeon RX 9070 Edition boasts a triple-fan design, featuring a black cooler shroud, and is an OC edition, bringing a higher boost clock than the reference design. Except for these little details, no other spec has been shown or leaked. One of the screenshots also reveals that the GPU features a 2x 8-pin PCI-E connector configuration, which is common on most RX 9070 XT and RX 9070 GPUs from other AIBs. This one is from the @xfx_middleeast account and the description of the video teaser says,Coming soon…#navi4 #navi48 #xfglobal #xfx #xfxforcmeThe mention of ‘Navi 48’ might be unintentional, but it does confirm that the Radeon RX 9070 XT and 9070 are based on a Navi 48 GPU die. This was reported by several leaks before as well, and now we finally have a few specs confirmed before the official announcement. It’s not known when AMD will reveal all the RX 9070 XT and 9070 GPU specifications because NVIDIA just moved ahead by revealing four of its RTX 50 series GPUs along with their specs and pricing.
