4 Ups & 6 Downs From WWE Raw (24 Mar – Results & Review) – WhatCulture

WWE Raw drops the ball with two world title feuds. There is no simple way to sugarcoat this for WWE fans: Raw
on Monday night was a failure of epic proportions for where they are on the
road to WrestleMania 41.Less than four weeks to go until the biggest show of the
year, WWE turned in a hugely disappointing show that underwhelmed with its major
angles, actively hurting one of its major title programs and spinning its wheels
with the likely closing match for the entire PLE.The world title feud between Gunther and Jey Uso started out
with such promise after the Royal Rumble and has completely sputtered, to the point
where WWE seemed to be building into the story itself that Jey isn’t a good
wrestler. The other men’s world title feud saw John Cena blabber on until
finally hitting on a winning message, but it took Cody Rhodes to salvage the
lengthy segment.Rhea Ripley continues to look less impressive by the week in
her three-way feud with Bianca Belair and Iyo Sky, but all of them looked terrible
Monday night, right down to WWE signposting a triple threat in the most offensive
way possible: an authority figure booking a singles match for next week that’s guaranteed
to end in a schmoz with all three women brawling so he “has no choice” but to
book them all in a match. There were some decent moments on Raw this week, but when
two world title feuds crater on the same show and a third spins its wheels, it’s impossible to sing
any praises here. This was late Vince McMahon-era bad, a huge disappointment,
and a worrying sign less than four weeks out from WrestleMania if they don’t
immediately turn things around.Let’s get to it…
